All shifting problems start when the clutch linkages gets out of adjustment as everything has to work together for easy shifting . Once they start going out the tugging and jerking starts then comes the SLAM SHIFTING , then the next thing is i am having trouble getting into rev or it starts jumping out of rev. So where do you start ??????? Ya start at the top and work your way on down and you replace, fix what you find . From the bushing in the H L N R lever the little ball links headed pins , range trans cover, rollers, spring, shifter arm, cam , rev. shifter arm and shaft . Then when ya have all the slop out of it then ya do the clutch adjustment along with the trans brake and dump valve as that pesty dump valve getting out of adjustment started all this . I have repaired many over the years and when done you can make them shift with two fingers when set properly .
