Wife's brother was killed this past Wednesday when his tractor rolled. Not sure why or how, but it appears he went across the slope. Only about a 6 foot high knoll. Tractor rolled twice, likely was pitched the first time with the tractor landing on him the second time. He appeared to me to be a conscientious and careful operator, not given to driving too fast or taking chances and certainly knew better to cross a slope as indicated by his tracks. We figure something happened to him, either took a seizure, or a jammer or something...The coroner said he was killed instantly, didn't know what hit him. Hope so.. Tractor was an IH 454 with an 1550 loader on it. Had a bucket full of dirt when it rolled. Maybe overloaded?? They took the tractor away as part of the investigation to check for a mechanical failure.
His wife came home from work and found him. I had to tell my wife.... This occured a week to the day my dear mother died. She was ready though at 82, he wasn't. 61 and retired about 2 months.
Looking forward to better days ahead with God's help....
