: I would like to know what size truck to use to pull a trailer with electrical brakes (about 3,000 lbs.) and a tractor that weights about 3,200 lbs. Also if I wanted to pull a tractor that is around 4,500 lbs. later on. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. : Bob BOB; there is some pretty good advise on hitches, weights, and bumpers from the other posts. One thing you did not mention was where and how you are going to tow. I had one of the worst days of my life when I towed an old cadilac home on a heavy construction trailer with a half ton pick up. The trailer drove me once I got moving. One thing I would recommend is that if you are going to be hauling heavy loads, for long distances, you should very seriously consider a dually pick up the stability you get from the wide rear end is something that you will be greatfull for later.
