In 62 i got my license and a 1956 Ford rag top with a 292 T Bird special and a slush box . Did not take long for the 3/4 grind isky cam the dual quads and dual point and headers to be added . But never really liked that car. I did not drive it a full year before something else caught my eye . That as a 1961 Ford Sunliner rag top . Down side was it was a six cylinder three on the tree . Just about got laughed out of school over it . Three days of taunting and we were on a quest for something else . One of the local junk yards got in a cop car that had a 352 Dual quad and a four gear and the owner of the yard made me a deal for 200 bucks he sold me everything to drop this puppy in and i mean everything , engine , trans, drive shaft rear springs ft. spring the new shocks all around complete exhaust system radiator shifter and cover plate . If i would help him remove it . I used the company i worked for pick up truck to haul everything back to the shop where i had all the tools to work with to remove and install . Two long evenings and it was done with the help from my boss . Yep it was way faster then my 56 , but the down side was i now owned a fog machine as she was and oil burner since the engine had almost 90000 miles on it and third gear scynro was weak . SOOOOooo wanting MORE horse power began the great 390 build from a brand new bare block with everything new and that could bolt on and F E ford block . The age of Horse power was upon us and one could not have enough .

Today's Featured Article - The 8N and the Fox - by Zane Sherman. Dec. 13 1998, Renfroe, Alabama. Last niht I dreamed about the day that I plowed the field of about 10 acres over on what Jimmy and Dandy called the Ledbetter field. I was driving the 1948 8N Ford tractor that Jimmy bought in 48 new This was prebably in about 1951 and maybe even befor the house was built. This would have made me to be about16 years old and I drove the tractor for nothing and would have paid to drive it if I had had any money which I didn't, but neit ... [Read Article]
