well on this subject i am getting a little more then TICKED at O Riles . Lets start with there CV Half shafts . Our old 2003 Dodge Durango was needing new CV joints as the OEM one ONLY LASTED 216000 miles and one OEM wheel bearing was getting noisy . Well the wife works for Girl Scouts and has three countys to cover weekend are the only time That i have to do any service on her car/ SUV . So i go to the local O Riles and order in these parts for the weekend and i pick them up when they arrive and on a nasty sunday morning i take the Druango down to a budddy's place and he and i jump in on it , i do both ft. wheel bearings and both shafts change oil rotate tires and do what sid and i do best together and that is Drink some beer do a lot of B/Sen and enjoy the day . The wife runs around 22-24000 miles a year about three months after we did the repairs she comes home one evening around 10 PM from way down south and informs me that she is getting a CLICKING noise and a grinding sound coming from the drivers side Well it is Thursday and she only has to run up to the main office 17 miles one way and 17 back so i told her to run it and if it drop kicks here to call AAA and have them take it down to Sids and we will go from there . She made the trip up and back and Saturday Morning i take it down to my buddys armed with a 30 pack and Sid and i tear back into it , Both half shaft boots are tore open from cracking of the cheap metrial , left wheel bearing is totally toast the passenger side is rough so we take these QUALITY parts back to my store and the fight is on and they try and lay the blame off on me for usen and IMPACT on the wheel bearing Sid does NOT own and Impact , then they said i installed the half shaft backwards , well there was NO WAY that happened as there is a left and right at that time now it's up to you to pull the long shaft or the short shat and make up what you need while the fight is going on the store manager shows up and he gets involved and replaces everything and had to send one of the yahoos to three different other stores to get the parts , Three hours later we are back putting the Durango back together . Fast forward four months and once again wheel bearing failure . in the mean time i did my Daughters car wheel bearing and this time O/Riles got me supposedly BETTER wheel bearing Guess what 3500 miles and they are OUT . sid put new wheel bearings in his Chevy and is now on his third set and NO no impact tools were involved all hand wrenched and torqued to spec.
