Well you whiners could be in our county.
The health department here decided
No lottery
No appointments
If your over 65 come to a county park and get inline for an unknown count of available doses beginning at 9am Saturday.
First come, first served.
That was three weeks ago.
So.......seniors began lining up in the park first thing Thursday morning. By Saturday morning there were 2000 or so people waiting and found out there were 1500 doses available.
However, the county did not bother to have a worker count who in line would be the last one to get their shot that day.
When they ran out of vaccines to give, THEN they told the remaining 500 to go home and try again next time.
Keep in mind these were seniors, 65+ living on their own, waiting and sleeping in their vehicles, some 48 hours.
Luckily many were smart enough to bring food and drinks with them. And there were bathroom facilities available in the park although no heat, nor hot water.
With the advance crowd packing the park, the county brought in a couple of ambulances and sheriffs deputies to "senior sit" and keep any undesirables way.
So quit whining, you could live here in our backwater county that thought administering the vaccine would be as routine as giving shots for the flu.

At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
