Not uncommon for them to leak a little. A leaking rear seal can leave a big mess and have minimal effect on the engine oil consumption.
Be sure the engine oil is not overfull, as in overfilled or contaminated with gas.
It can also be the front transmission seal.
I have greatly slowed rear main seals by running the oil below the full mark. As long as you know the oil consumption history, running it low will not hurt it.
A leaking rear seal is often a symptom of more serious problems like loose main bearings and excess blow-by. A restricted crankcase breather will also increase crankcase pressure. Only replacing the seal may be a temporary fix or no improvement at all if the engine is getting tired.
If you do go in to repair it, while there it would be a good time to replace the front transmission seal. If it has a dual clutch it will have 2 seals.
Also look up top. A leaking valve cover gasket can sneak it's way down and appear to be a rear seal.
