oil sludging

Hello Eveyone, I was just reading the auto reviews and
something called "oil sludging" caught
my attention. The auto in question,
the Toyota Siena van, had numerous
problems with this problem. The sludging
was causing customers to return their
so called "high quality" Toyota autos
for repairs. The dealers were not honoring
the warranty to replace or repair the engines
after sludging caused damage. Apparently,
the oil would break down and become thick
like pudding. The dealer and Toyota claimed
all of these customers were not using high
quality oil and changing it at the correct
internal (7500 miles recommended). Since the
oil changes were not performed at certified
dealership, there was no proof of proper care.
Does this sound familiar when dealing with
any dealer? Anyway, I wondered if this would
stimulate some conversation and perhaps shed
some insight into what caused this problem.
I remember reading about some guys not
running their tractors with a thermostat and
the result was sludged oil. Could it be that
Toyato is not running a hot enough thermostat?
