For most conditions a 2-14" plow would have been the choice. The NAA and 600/700 series were 2-plow tractors, the 800/900 series were 3-plow tractors. With either of these ballast would be required to be effective in tough soils. Lienbach has a nice 1-16" plow that is built for tractors over 25 HP, in my area it sells for around $200 new. For the limited amount of plowing you will be doing it will do fine and allow you to plow as deep as you want. It will also be easier to handle if you wish to haul your tractor with the plow and a disk. Many of the older plows such as the Dearborns do not have trip mechanisms if you hit a rock or stump. If you buy a used plow turn it over and check the condition of the frog (part which the share and shin attaches) these are often worn out and fairly expensive to replace.
