Engine top oiler

Folks: In surfing the net I have found that the Ampco lubricator for engines is being produced again. It's a real throwback to 50's and earlier. It puts an oil mist into the intake stream just after the carburetor. I have thought about it for my hot rod and also my old gas engined tractor. Anyone out there got experience with these things? Any real benefit from it? It would be filled with Marvel Mystery oil. Thanks!
