That was a good price on a 1030, but to straighten a couple comments, 1030's never had anything but an 8-speed stick shift trans. They are 451 ci. vs. 930's were 401 ci., bore being the big difference. They were not all 1000 pto's, we have a 540 unit here in our little salvage yard, and there others here in the neighborhood. And, yes, Case power shift's on later tractors may cost some bucks to redo, but did you listen your neighbors talk about redoing their 1086 or 4230 ps. trans, or a MF or any other later tractor with ps. trans. Any of these 1970's tractors are how old now? Anyone may be faced with a costly repair, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. By and large though virtually all later tractors are pretty darn dependable. Dale
