Just a thought, but the woodpeckers are going after insects. Maybe spraying your house with some kind of insecticide to eliminate the bugs would help. If there is no source of food, the woodpeckers would leave, wouldn't they? Also, don't think that the woodpeckers won't damage your siding, I once had a woodpecker that was apparently going after the bugs in my rooftop T.V. antennae, the bird didn't quit until it had succeded in drilling completely through one of the prongs and breaking it off. Woodpeckers are very hard headed little you know whats.
