What year is the tractor? I think '67 they upped the hp. We have a '66, used it for chasing wagon's down the road, fast in high gear, but down shift quite a bit on the hills. That engine does not have sleeves, will need a rebore if the cyliners are egged. How much are you planning on using it? Some lawn mowing and snow plowing, it will last a long time. It will start hard at 70 psi. You will need chains w/turf tires to plow snow. Easy enough to pull the head and do a valve job, unlike the 800 series. If you REALLY like the tractor, agree on two prices, higher and lower. Split the cost of the valve job and pay the higher if the engine brightens up. Pay the lower if still the same.
