Mark is right about the value down the road from now. The tractor will retain it's value where the garden tractor will not. Another plus for the tractor/belly mower combo is this outfit, no matter what the brand is, will be more reliable and easier to fix when repairs do need to be made. My dad bought a B Farmall in 1975 and put a new woods mower on it. During the winter of '76' the engine was overhauled. It has logged an estimated 4000? hours since '76' and the only repairs have been a starter and generator and an annual tune-up for the tractor, one belt idler and one spindle bearing on the mower. The drawback to the tractor is it is not as maneuverable as a garden tractor and the tires can chew up the grass on tight turns, depending on the tire tread.
