There is a seal at the base of the steering column, at the top of the steering gear. You have to remove and/or loosen a lot of the pedestal/ dash to get to the three bolts that hold the steering volumn to the gear. Pull it off upward, completely off the steering shaft. If you are clean and carefull, you can get by with the seal and one "O" ring. If there are other steering gear leaks, it would be best to get the complete seal kit and remove the gear and go through it, but the last one I did turned out OK the simple and cheap way. Also, no adjustments are disturbed this way. Email, if you'd like a diagram, and part numbers.
