Well, I once thought like that. After I drove this thing home a couple months ago on a cold, windy, snowy day, freezing everything I hold near and dear, and felt a distinct "clunk" under my feet every time that right wheel made a complete turn...and then when it wouldn't start because the magneto needs attention and I started adding up all I've spent on it and it's still nothing but a rusty old hulk that can't be depended on without several hundred more of my $$ being spent to make it so, that's when I decided to cut my losses and maybe buy something that won't be considered a "parts" tractor. Besides, I have two other nice running tractors and one of them is even pretty (my '48 Farmall M).
