I had tractor for sale and recieved an email from the UK. He asked a couple questions about the tractor and for my phone # which I provided. Recieved a call a few days later from UK and he tried to beat down the price but finaly agreed to mine. He asked if I would prefer a check or money transfer into my acct., which immediately set off a warning bell. I said I'd prefer the check but that the tractor would remain locked in my garage until it has positivley cleared, he agreed and would be in the US in about 3-4 weeks to inspect the tractor and pick up another one in New England, both to be shipped from Boston. He was very knowlegable about the tractor and I did a reverse phone check on his number and it is listed to a business in his name. Everything seems pretty legit, but with all the overseas scams going on, it makes me wonder. Has anyone got any info on a possible scam working this way. Thanks for any info.
