I know of several people in my area that have made plaques of such plates on a fancy wooden background, and I sure can"t see any harm in it, as long as the tractors have been scrapped, and he hasn"t STOLEN the plate off of someone else"s tractor. It"s kinda like guns and ammo, or booze and knives, legal to sell (of course with certain restrictions), but pretty much out of the seller"s hand once they"re sold. Why do you assume the ONLY reason somone would want one is for a stolen tractor? That thought did not even cross my mind, since I know of people that collect the plates. It"s sorta like having a piece of the real thing, and they take up a lot less space!
