People who steal tractors do so to resell them. They obviously cannot sell them with the correct serial number as this is the ID used by law enforcement to recover the tractor and prosecute the crimminals. So the bad guys buy a phony serial number tag to replace the original tag. They are then free to sell the tractor without worry of being caught and the new buyer now owns a stolen tractor. You might want to contact e-bay and/or local law enforcement and advise them.
