I found a 850 deere compact tractor for sale and need some help. The tractor has a 60 inch woods belly mower under it and by the looks of the tractor it may be all its ever done. It shows 2700 hours and is gear driven and no front end assist. I was wanting it for a modern all purpose tractor, mostly mowing but maybe 4 ft box blade or front end loader. What is the life expectency of the diesel engine assuming it was maintained. What the weakn links of these tractors if any. And of corse value. It is straight and clean with no evidence of ever being repainted. It surely must have been shedded more than it set out as the paint is really decent. They want 6000.00 for it and are willing to let me take it home for the weekend to try it out. Any thoughts, anything I should look for while I have it home. What is a fair price? Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks.
