I rebuilt a 1960 CASE 310 crawler last year to do some chores around the farm, but it was so nice, I hated to get it dirty. Therefore, I decided to make something to haul it to a couple of tractor shows before commissioning it for farm duty. I had several options, so early in the project I decided to make a "rollback" on a 1951 Ford F8 former fire truck that I had purchased. The more that I thought about it, the more I determined that a big truck would be too limited in utility. So in the process, I decided to take the big truck cab and put it on a late model 1 ton chassis (1984 F350) that had the engine power, automatic transmission, power brakes, and power steering for a few human comforts. The result is a 1951 Ford pickup with an 8 foot bed that has a ball hitch in the bed to haul my tractors on a 24 foot gooseneck trailer. The rear end is a DANA 70 so that I can put dually tires on the rear when a hauling task is to be performed. The engine is a 460 backed by a C6 automatic and a tilt column out of a 69 Lincoln. The picture shows my 1+ year of work. It's not finished, but hopefully it will be by next summer so I can take my CASE crawler to a few tractor shows. I hope the picture shows in this post. At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p
