Davis,I live about 12 miles from the Marquette plant you got some equipment from.On the tags,when you buy a trailer from a dealer,they should give you a form to take to the hwy dept.It says on there that if the capacity of the trailer is more than 25000 it must be registerd.I verified this with the hwy dept.A permanent tag is 90 bucks for this application or 25000 or less and never has to be changed.Now,the reason the offer this tag is specifically what you said,in some states they will get you for not having a tag on it,but they have yet to bother me in the three years I took a tractor to a show in Charlotte.Of course all of this was three years ago,so the law may have changed now.Privatly sold trailers are the same except you wont get that paper like from the dealer and you have to fill all of it out at the Hwy dept.
