plugs wires. you can very carefully very carefully take apaprt the egr valve even though not "recommended and use simple green and torch tip cleaners (great to youse as you have many various sizes) simple green is great to use becasue it doesnt leave any residue like a normal soap would on your electrical sensors. just be darn careful darn careful you watch what your doign and dont lose any parts. the egr exhaust gas recirculation valve takes exhaust gas and puts it back to the intake to reburn exhaust lower emissions +if you put exhaust in the intake you get less new fuel and less new air generally less new fuel it will also run cooler as well. i dont think an egr would make you get ten that is absolutly terrible but possible. the egr gets gummed up w/carbon so just take it apart carefully and like i said you go to any garage and for cleaning throttle bodies anything they use simple green at least in this part of the country
