It looks to me that there is a scam within a scam going on here. The Nigerian government convicts the original scammer, probably because Brazil threatened to cut off coffee supplies to nigeria, then the Nigerian government skims off $5,000,000 for themselves, and another $15,000 desguised as a fine, and "orders" the original scammer to return a measly $48,500,000, which leaves a paltry sum of $188,470,000 for the original scammer to try to live on. Yep, the Nigerian government is really stepping up its effort to eradicate this scam. The article also didnt address the fact that this is but one scammer convicted. What about the other gazillion or so scammers who are still applying their trade? Looks to me as though they are still counting on good old Joe American to be greedy enough to continue to fall for such nonsense.
