Just bought a Modern 5 ft. mower for my mom's 601 Ford. Have it all hooked up except the drive shaft. It has one of those plastic sleeve's around the drive shaft, and some kind of a round coller that goes to the PTO. The coller seem's to twist left- right, but I'll be darned if I figure out how it engages on the groove on the PTO shaft! I looked in the reciveing end of the shaft and see what I think is a piece that may retract to allow it to slide onto PTO shaft, and then set into groove on the shaft. But I cant seem to get this piece to move and since mower is new, I don't want to force it! The splines are matching. this much I do know. I know more about 4 whell drive truck's than I do about tractor's and mower's. So PLEASE HELP! BLESS ALL!
