Well this is what I found out over the weekend. Compression is great, 145 lb.s across the board. I ohm tested the plug wires and found 2 that had an "open" reading. Quick changed them out with 2 out of a car ( I know not the right type but just a quick try) and it still started the same. I got 12+ volts at the coil when the switch turns on, the timing is good. We will replace the plugs, the wires, and run the ground to the starter bolt instead of the battery box. I did notice that the fuel filter on it is really small, I mean about the size of my pinky finger so we will replace that with a larger all metal one. I also noticed that the low idle setting on this tractor is at 12-1300 rpm's. The service manual says it should be at about 600 rpm's and the 2020 I have runs at about 600 rpms. Could this setting cause a starting problem? Any other ideas?
