Jay, I bought a demo RWS airrifle from Airgun Express several years ago. Check out the link in a previous post. They were very helpful and have quite a selection of brands, sizes, calibers, etc. The actually sell hollow point pellets! The one I got is a model 48, adult air rifle, .22 cal, 900 feet per second if I'm not mistaken. Its a little too big for your girls, at around 8 pounds. Also, my dad has an old .22 cal Benjamin from the early '70s. 10 pumps would kill a pigeon with a well placed shot in the head. I think that would be a good choice for its size and price. Good Luck! -Vinnie
