Hi Rich, My 2002 7.3 PSD has a cap with spokes inside the lid. I took a 3" ABS thread x slip coupler with a screw in plug, plug has a square headed wrench end, then took a 4" side grinder and cut slots in the coupler edge to fit the lid spokes. Open the filter drain Take off filter lid Clean filter bowel well, flush with diesel Install Racor filter Install new gasket soaked with diesel, pay attention to the gasket bevel, Install lid KOEO 3 times for 20sec each time, purge air from new filter Close filter drain Start engine as normal KOEO= key on engine off If you have a 6.0 PSD then you have different directions.
