Here's a few words of advice from someone who knows. First, check with GM, I think the Escalade warranty is void if you get any feathers or chaf inside the vehicle. Then, put your Ford N on ebay and "sell it now" for maybe 8 grand, you can almost double your money overnight. Lastly, there are a lot of Essex Tri Directionals out there in California that a guy can pick up for a song. I would suggest the ETD "Stubble Jumper" model for good fuel economy on that bio-whateveritis fuel you plan to use. Do a quick tuneup on it and grow pineapples, they are an up-and-coming crop up in the Yukon (my Uncle Festus Grimes farms them) near Jakes Corner so I don't see why a guy couldn't pull it off in California. Good luck with your venture and ignore all those ignoramus' below that are jerking your chain. You will make out just fine.
