: I OWN A "52 8N AND AM CONSIDERING PUTTING A LOADER ON IT. THE ONLY PART THAT HAS ME BAFFLED IS, WHERE AM I GOING TO HOOK UP THE HYDRAULICS? IS THERE A WAY TO DO IT WITHOUT ADDING ON AN AUX. PUMP AND RES?.
Yes, you can add a loader without an auxiliary pump and reservoir. Will you like it? No.
Reasons :
- the internal pump is far too slow to run a loader. It makes only 2.5 gpm of flow. At that rate, it will take about 10 seconds to fully extend a pair of loader cylinders.
- the hydraulics are non-live, so your loader will be too.
- you will need to secure the 3-point hitch to divert hydraulic pressure to the loader, making it a chore to use the hitch and not the loader.
If you are still determined to do this, the hydraulic supply from the internal pump is accessed by a brass plug on the bottom of the pump body, about under your right boot heel when you're in the saddle. You'll need to plumb a return line into the hydraulic cover somehow. The supply fitting is 1/2" ORB thread (NOT NPT) - don't force a pipe thread fitting into it or you'll trash the pump body, which is made of aluminum.
Good luck with it.
