The only engines I ever witnessed turning backwards where 2 stroke diesels, Back in europe we had a mann tractor, That a guy could start going the other way by letting it die and on the last stroke the compresion would sling it back and it would fire up in the other way. It could ruine the engine cause the oilpump runs the wrong way too.
