Yup, know that feeling... Today I went to see my girlfreind sing in her concert choir at Lakeland U, instead of working on getting the tillage equipment ready. I managed to install a new 10" cylinder on our spring tooth in place of the 8" we were using, as it just didn't lift it high enough to lock for transport, and for storage. On Easter Sunday my brothers and dad are planning 9 holes of golf, followed by dinner at 4. If the weather is nice, I might be able to get the duals on both tractors (one for hauling poo, the other is for the heavy tillage), get mom's garden tilled up (fix the tiller so I can do item #2), help my dad clean 80 bu. of oats that he sold, (plus enough for ourselves), and if all goes right we might be able to get some peas & tritical in the ground for early forage. Has to stay dry for that last one though, so we'll see how it goes....

I'm axious to get my 1600 on the drill and corn planter after being out of commision for so long. Of course as long as my tractor is on the planters, I'll have lots of seat time this year. May have to let my dad plant a couple acres of corn with it, and somehow figure out a way to let my mom drive it without getting into too much trouble as it was hers before I grew up to restore it... She always used to haul wagons with it back when her dad still ran the farm.

Donovan from Wisconsin

Did I mention I also go to school Mon-Thu (6:15 AM) and work 35 hours a week off the farm?

Today's Featured Article - Gatherin of the Orange - by Rick Nikolich. In July of 1998 I was talking to fellow Allis Chalmers collector Mike Schilling about the annual "Gathering of The Orange" AC show coming up in August of 1999. He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana. ... [Read Article]
