Use a good quality oil of your choice that has a C( compression ignition, diesel engine oil) in the API spec. A story in one of my car magazines tells that the aftermarket camshaft builders are seeing a lot of flat tappet cam/lifter failures when using and oil with only an API S(spark ignition, gasoline engine oil. It seems that most automotive engines have used nothing but roller lifter camshafts for the past 15 or so years,so less of the extreem pressure additive that protects a flat tappet cam from wear is added to gasoline only motor oil. This additive fouls cat converters and oxygen sensors, and with the EPA requiring the emission systems to work to atleast 100,000 miles, they cannot have this stuff in the oil. Problem is that an older engine with a flat tappet cam does not get enough protection from a modern gasoline only oil. The flat tappet cam builders say to use only an oil with a Diesel( CD-CF-or higher) API spec to get enough of the zink phosphate additive to protect the cam/lifters.
