I need to install a filter in my 300U's loader hydraulic system. It's a Wagner loader with a pump run off of a front PTO shaft. Originally there was a strainer on the suction side of the pump, but that was lost by a previous owner so it's running unfiltered at the moment. I would like to add a 25 micron spin-on filter in place of the strainer. With it on the suction side (and not return), will this put too much strain on the pump? It will be using 3/4-inch. NPT, which is what the original strainer was plumbed with, from what I can tell. I figured the 25 micron would be a little less restrictive than a 10 micron. Any thoughts? Thanks.
