Sure it's at the hose, and not the gasket between the back plate and the housing? Mine was that gasket. Took the water pump off, took it apart snd cleaned it up, replaced the gasket (adding No.2 Permatex), put it back together haven't lost a drop since. And then again, maybe you have a crack in the casting. You have a leak, so I'd pull the water pump and inspect it. It isn't hard, couple of hours tops. If you take the water pump off, try to take the fan and pulley off as one piece (they are two seperate pieces). If you have to take them apart (fan and pulley) to get the pulley off of the water pump, be careful of the two bolts for adjusting/holding the fan's sleave to the pulley. They're old and break easy. If you do loosen them, I'd pickup and replace them with a couple bolts from the hardware store (are like 1/4" diameter x 1/2" long). Be careful not to lose the locks for those two bolts. Those two bolts are what adjusts and locks the fan/sleave onto the pulley, so the fan doesn't come loose and adjust itself outward into the radiator when the engine's running. It really is a simple task. Just take your time. Mark
