4H livestock just about always brings ultra high premium prices. Those bids are usually placed by people who want to reward the kids for doing a good job. Those people might be the banker, where the kids father does business, the owner of the feed store where the feed was purchased, the owner of the store where the kids dad buys the farm equipment, or a host of others. Those big dollars are awarded to the 4Her to be used for a college education, or invested back into livestock, hopefully as a way of keeping the farm kids involved in agriculture.
