You know the story of the 17 year old that remarked that "the Old Man" was so dumb he could hardly stand to be around him, but he was amazed at how much "Dad" had learned by the time he was 22. I had the experience of my own flesh and blood that was not prone to take advice as a teen, but later would ask my opinion about things.
