well guys, on one of my adventures this past weekend with the wife grandddad, i found a true treasure. I really ain't sure what it is but man its somthing. Driving around looking at hay feilds i saw a old barn and decided to look in it(i do alot of barn wood projects)and to my suprise a tractor was parked in the back corner all alone, being a antique tractor buff i proceeded in to look at it, upon inspection i was really puzzeld----the tractor has a narrow front end that looked jd, a four cylinder engine was in place-i am still looking for casting # on the motor---the hood was cut for a propane application and a extremley large tank was in place--homemade brackets---the transmissin was stamped ih as well at the rear end---it hade homemade fender and a seat that looked like it was out of some old car. well we picked up the phone and called the land owner and asked about it and he agreed to let me have it--i do side work for him, he said the previous land owner gave the tractor to him with the land, and since he is past on, i really can't get any info on it, and no one around said they had ever seen this tractor as the previous owener always had new equip, well i guess i got a mutant tractor mystery on my hands---lets see if i can make it run now

In July of 1998 I was talking to fellow Allis Chalmers collector Mike Schilling about the annual "Gathering of The Orange" AC show coming up in August of 1999. He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana. ... [Read Article]
