Howard;

You say: "I "get it" that you are mad you didn't get the item"

Actually YOU "don't get it". I'm NOT the LEAST BIT mad over not GETTING the parts. They are pretty hard to find; but there will be others! There was another auction of similar parts not too long ago; and I was outbid. Someone REALLY wanted them; and I have NO problem with that. The auction ran it's course and I was outbid. NO big deal. That's the way it works with an "auction". What I am MAD about is this auction being "pulled" before the alotted time for bidding was over.

There's a BIG difference between "CANNOT complete your listing as planned" and CHOOSING to jerk people around by ending the auction early just 'cuz you FEEL like it.

I understand there has to be a "way out" for the seller if the item is lost; stolen; or broken. That's NOT what we are talking about here.

As another poster said; how would the seller have liked it if I had "won" the auction and found the items from another (local) source; then told him "heck; I made other arrangements and I no longer want your items". BINGO!

Why should the seller be allowed to "back out" of the terms under which the auction was listed and remain in good standing on ebay; yet a person BIDDING on the auction is held to the terms of the auction???

Ebay states "your bid is a binding contract".

So why should LISTNG an item on ebay; under the terms you agree to (auction duration) when you listed it; be ANY LESS "binding"?

In other words; if it ain't REALLY for sale under the terms of the auction DON'T LIST IT!

Simple; Eh?

Today's Featured Article - Gatherin of the Orange - by Rick Nikolich. In July of 1998 I was talking to fellow Allis Chalmers collector Mike Schilling about the annual "Gathering of The Orange" AC show coming up in August of 1999. He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana. ... [Read Article]
