The 73 to 87 truck design had many nooks and cranny's and the porous caulk would shrink allowing mud and salt to collect. After two years they'd be full of holes. In 1978 I bought and still have a 76 one ton for $250. What a deal if you don't mind a few holes. Imagine today getting a 2005 pickup for $250. GM is still suffering that low quality image. Bottom line, if used as a work truck, it'll rot fast.
