REFERENCE SELECT-o-SPEED Hi Gang; SOS was really a total disaster, and had almost disapeared by the early 1970's. Many SOS tractors were converted to standard gearboxes, Ford offered a special price for the conversion box. Today collectors are wary of any SOS tractor, there are no spares and very few people who know how to service-repair them. Did you know the engineer who designed SOS left Ford to join JD, where the principal was perfected and apeared many years later in JD 6000 & 7000 tractors ! Cheers David
