New 3 point arm end

One of the 3 point lift arms on my '64 David Brown is beginning to show it's age, the ball is nearly coming out of the socket. I've seen new ones at TSC and other places, two styles in fact, that can be welded on to replace it. One is just the socket and ball, the other is a socket, ball and small piece of arm. Has anyone ever done this job? Any advice on which one to go with? One can be found here: http://www2.northerntool.com/product-1/200315757.htm
