A few years ago, a guy tried to start a fertilizer business here in Stratford, TX. Got a big bulk tank and set it on railroad tie blocks. BUT, he had the ties under the ends of the skids on the tanks, not directly under the supports between the skids and the tank. When they started filling the tank from a railroad car, it worked great until it got too heavy, bent the toes of the skids up, and then broke the fitting out of the end of the tank... It spewed enough ammonia they had to evacuate the town... It made Paul Harvey news... As if that was anything to brag about... HH
