Idler pully fix questions

I have an old hay rake that has an idler pulley in it and the bearing is wore out. Have any of you ever tried to split one of these stamped steel pulley apart and put in a new bearing?? This one looks like it has rivits holding it togeather and I'm thinking about tring to split it and put in a new bearing. Any ideas on this or I'm I #1 crazy and #2 to cheap to pay $350 for a new one?? Thanks
