I'm with Gary on this. You are out the total income off of those acres, plus cost of seedbed prep, fuel and time. If you had had your local coop spray your crop and they sprayed the wrong chemical and killed the whole field and they said , sorry, we won't charge you for doing it, Would you be satisfied? If they don't want to pay off till what's there is harvested, I'd want them to sign a paper admitting their liability. They are supposed to have insurance to cover their mistakes or eat it themselves. I'd want to know who else in the area had bad beans and how much they settled for. Sometimes you do need a lawyer.
