I came upon a Rhino TW84 shredder. This is a heavy-duty 7" rotary mower with the heavy 110HP rated gearbox. I was able to buy this thing cheap, it looks okay but must have been abused. I"m not sure if the gearbox is good or not, as I haven"t turned it over yet. Here"s the problem, while lifting if off the trailer, I noticed the blades are gone. That"s no big deal as a set of blades are about $75. The problem is the entire hanger for the blades is gone (the piece from the gearbox down) Priced what I think is this piece at dealer.....$580 plus $75 for blades. So the question is this: How do I know if the gearbox is okay or not, BEFORE I spend the money. Also, is there a chance I could find this part used or cheaper in decent shape? If so, where? Thanks DJL
