My $.02 only. I was very disappointed with my Stihl. I used as you describe. About a cord and a half of wood a year and some yard and garden pruning. Kept clean and sharp. Adjuster screw broke (plastic)- steel replacement part $17. Carb would not stay on setting and assorted nuisances. Never used anything but name brand gas and Stihl oil. I think it was a 240. I don"t have it around because I threw it across the counter at the dealer repair shop finally. My friend has one that is the most abused tool I"ve seen. Cranks and runs perfectly. His may be a 270. I think they are over priced and over rated for casual use. My new tack is a mid-sized Poulan from Wal-Mart. When it has irritated you enough, just toss it and buy another. Cheap. Trouble is, my last Poulan won"t quit, just has gotten tempermental to start and I am living with it for a while longer. Never owned a Husky, just a McCullogh that was too small for some of my cutting once I bought the old farm.
