RANT ON IOWA / POLITICIANS

[ Expand ] [ View Replies ] [ Add a Reply ] [ Return to Forum ]

Posted by NE IA on December 31, 2007 at 08:58:04 from (12.227.201.200):

I know that this should be over at the political board, but honestly I'm not so sure that it does not resemble alot of slop house conversations where as the one who shouts the loudest must be right, and if ya don't think I'm smart let me drink alittle more an I'll tell ya just how smart I am. I get uncomfortable just reading some of the insults from brainiacks. I do enjoy the information I can gather by alot of smart folks, and how certian political things relate to their lives. But the ones with nothing to offer must simply critsize and insult. I guess that goes with polital crap.

Although I'm noted as good humored by everyone but my EX, and her attorney (they just don't get me I guess). I am totaly upset with Iowa being first in the political scam or sewer pit.

Yesterday they broke a record, twenty three phone calls after five PM. Usualy about six to eight, and one eve thirteen. Before you break foul, I have caller ID, and I'm on the do not call list. However I get some phone calls from old army buddies etc. I run a business so I do not use a recorder, as most of my customers like the NO RECORDER phone. Most know my cell, but not all of them as the number has been on a old piece of cardboard for fourty years next to their phone.

Yes, I know I could turn the recorder on, but it just ticks me off. Where is our mentality going when our politicians think that by showing up to make a speach, regardless if they are ---picking up speed, realy motivating us, and promising a real change, and SURVING us common folks rather than the loby scum. Oh h*ll yea I will run right out an vote for you after you call me, by the way please call and remind me to get out an vote everyday before the election.

Let me promise you all I use every bad word I can think of when responding including the F bomb. Where is Lee Harvy Oswal now that we realy need him?

So being I carried on like a politician avoiding a question (even if it is my own) does anyone know of a grass root effort to have a do not call list? Not the crap they handed down a few years ago? I can honestly say it definatly was long overdue, and does help.

While I'm on a rant here, A good friend of mine is the county acessor, not a real popular guy and all, but he sells all property owner lists to siding companies, insurance companies etc. Did ya know that? I think he needs to be pubicly horse whipped. He says it brings in money for the county. Go figure.

Well sorry, and thanks for the threrapy, and a shoulder to cry on. Probaby if most of you guys wanted to hear a bunch of complaining, you could have simply asked--how was your day dear?

Got to get something done today, been doin the IRS proof of purchase listing thing, and trying to figure out a way of procrastinating I guess.

Today's Featured Article - Gatherin of the Orange - by Rick Nikolich. In July of 1998 I was talking to fellow Allis Chalmers collector Mike Schilling about the annual "Gathering of The Orange" AC show coming up in August of 1999. He got this wild idea that we should get a convoy of AC tractors and drive them from Charlotte, Michigan 105 miles to LaGrange, Indiana. ... [Read Article]
