Borrowin's a touchy subject. Ya can generate enough bad feelin's with hand tools. Power tools are worse, and machinery and implements are the worst.
Most of my borrowin' in space, since the neighbor has a heated garage, a real luxury up here. 'Course that means usin' his tools while I'm there. In that circumstance, I make a point of puttin' things back where they belong, and leavin' the place like he would keep it oly cleaner than I found it. Not everybody does it like I do, and there are folks who aren't even allowed to visit his shop. Banning them took care of the missing tool problem.
If I actually borrow something, I take the same approach. Return it promptly in same or better shape.
A lot of folks don't. My rule is to have a REAL SHORT list of folks that can borrow. I will NOT be burned twice by the same person.
