When i was 20, i put a 300 hp. 351 windsor and automatic trans along with a 3.56 geared limited slip 9 in. Ford rearend into a 1974 Mustang II.
300 hp in a 2800 lb. body sure is fun when you are a kid. Of course that was almost 30 yrs. ago. It sure was a big job to put the 351 in where a 4 cyl.came out. That little car was ugly as sin but that thing would SCREAM !!!!!!!
Probably didn"t have $250.00 in that swap combo.
I still think about that car alot, when i want to go fast. But the go fast days are getting few and far between.
I guess it was my own combo that made it so special to me,and i done it all by myself.
It doesn"t sound like much now but back then there was nothing around that could run with it.
I hardly drove that that thing without my knees shaking when i got out of it. MAN THAT THING WOULD SCREAM.

The fastest car I had was a factory stock 1968 Plymouth Fury III,I bought it while I was still in high school,it had a 440ci engine and a factory Hurst 4spd,that thing would peg the speedometer at the drop of a hat.Sold it when gas got crazy back in the 70's.I also had a '68 Chevelle with a 396 in it,I got that from my cousin in the late 70's,I was the second owner,I could kick myself for ever getting rid of that one.I also had a '70 GTO with a 400 in it and a '63 Impala that a friend of mine put a 389 Pontiac engine in it.I bought a Z28 Camaro when they came out with the,then new body style in '82 also.I'm sure that I'm probably missing a couple.
